The 7th Grade class used clay and cookie cutters of various shapes and sizes. These were then dried and painted. A piece of driftwood provides the anchor for this piece as each clay “ornament” was attached to it, creating a very unique and beautiful piece. Each 6th Grade student traced their hands on watercolor paper and personalized them with watercolor pencils. These were then adhered to a midnight sky-themed canvas, resulting in a very special piece of art. Thank you to Mrs. Grohoski, SJV Art Teacher, for helping the students with their project.

After learning about the Art of Henri Matisse and author Eric Carle, the 5th grade used paint and watercolor paper to create their own unique paper strips, which were then woven together and framed (16x20 poster frame). The 4th Grade, after studying Pop Art, took a Tumble Tower (“Jenga”) set, painted it in neon colors, and then added Pop Art-Inspired phrases (ie: Pow, Wham, etc) to create a one of a kind game. The set comes with a large wooden number die and a carrying case. Thank you to Mrs. Grohoski for working with our 4th Grade on this fun project!

A heart cutout was cut into a puzzle. Each 3rd grade student took a piece, painted it in neon acrylic, then used a variety of materials to embellish each piece. The heart was then put back together and adhered to a black and neon splattered canvas (18x24). Thank you to Mrs. Grohoski for working with our 3rd Grade on this project.

The 2nd Grade Class painted wooden sticks in purple, light blue, and nay. These were then arranged around a small mirror to mimic flower petals. The piece measures approximately 12 inches. Thank you to Mrs. Grohoski, SJV Art Teacher for creating this pretty piece with our students.

Each student personalized a ceramic tile. These were then grouted to the top of a small, white bookshelf. This piece is reminiscent of a pie safe and is certain to be treasured by its winning bidder. Thank you to Miss Gansen for working with our First Grade students on this project.

After studying the Art of Andy Warhol, Mrs. McCartney’s Kindergarten class created a Pop-Art piece of their own in the style of Andy Warhol. Each child painted a frog using neon paint and a sponge, with each frog different from the next. These were then mounted on a 24x18 canvas painted in black. Thank you to Mrs. Grohoski, our SJV Art Teacher, for working with our students on this very cool project!

You Are My Sunshine Canvas Art After studying the stories and artwork of Eric Carle, Ms Mullally’s JK/Kindergarten class used yellow and orange paint on watercolor paper to create a vibrant sunshine, complete with the saying “You Are My Sunshine”. This was then mounted on a 24x18 canvas painted in sky blue. Thank you to our SJV Art Teacher, Connie Grohoski, for working with our JK/K class on this beautiful project.
